Courtesy to: Game of Thrones & Fifty shades of Grey: Google; Shells: Rochel Caduyac; Birthday group picture: Quennie Cenabre; Retreat group picture: Arcjade Mangallab; Alumni group picture: Unknown Before 2015 ends, I would like to have my #2015BestNine. This year was full of happy memories and these photos are just few of the many! I tasted so far the best cake of the year that was served on my aunt C.'s birthday. This is a vanilla fruit cake. It was delicious, it wasn't very sweet, and I like the fruits on top. The fruits and the flavor of the cake was blended very well. Just so you know, I am a Game of Thrones fanatic. Yes I do! Oh I'm so excited for the release of season 6 this April! My favorite character is John Snow and there are already a lot of different theories of his history on the internet. Season 5 was hanging, wasn't it? Oh I just can't really wait for April! I am also a fan of Fifty Shades of Grey. I'd read all of the books and I ...

Gifts, cookie eating, and the moon on Christmas day!

Image
I had a very fun Christmas this year. My family and I prepared a short Christmas party with our workers. The food was delicious. Though, I hadn't took pictures of it. Actually, I hadn't took pictures during our celebration because my phone wasn't good at capturing dim views. We held the party at our garage so the light wasn't that good enough for my phone. :( Yet, I enjoyed the party so much! The cookie eating game was very funny. I'm not sure if you're familiar with it, the game goes like this: you have to put a cookie on your forehead and the goal is you have to eat it without using your hands. So I was laughing out loud last night seeing the funny faces of the participants struggling to put the cookie in their mouth. For my gifts, these are the things that I received last night.  From the left, I had Pringles with Sneakers that is supposed to be attached on the side but I already ate it. I had a Bench perfume (blue bottle), a pink Tumblr, pos...

Hooray for Christmas break! I should be posting this now to wrap up my whole week because this week  was very hectic. We had a lot of school works that I don't have the opportunity to prepare for Christmas. I just got home from the city. Now, I'm planning to buy Christmas gifts for my family. But today, I 'll gonna show you some major things that happened this week! We had our karyotyping exercise in our laboratory. Karyotyping is used to identify mutations in an organism's genes. As you can see at the right side of the picture, we find it difficult to pair the chromosomes according to their sizes and centromeres because they all look the same. After pairing up, some of the set of genes were identified to have Down syndrome and Cri du chat.  When I went to have a break with all my school works, I went to a tea store named Nai Cha and I ordered Wintermelon with pearls. It was very refreshing! My father also went to the city the day before we head hom...

9 more days to go: Christmas blues

Love,  I guess it's harder to wait. It's harder than I could imagine.  To see everyone come alone and go with someone. I can never barely tell if I can also be in that position. Because, my future is a mystery. I cannot see and feel how it will be. I am not sure if it can be the best for me. I can only see darkness through and I'll never know how it will be going.  I took the risk to wait. To think waiting is hoping, that  I fear for the days spent in despair will be wasted. What is more painful is to see yourself accept that you will be on your own, with no strings attached to. In the future, it might be like this and I'll never know.  It's funny. I don't understand why I long. I don't know the reason why I'm longing. Perhaps, this is just part of growing up.

Currently, I am studying Plant physiology for our reporting.  During Christmas break I still have to study for our upcoming Midterm exam week on January. So, my acads will always tail me this vacation. But, I hope I can still manage to update my blog :D

22 more days to go: French toast & Blog makeover!

Image
Today, I tried to make french toast again. I was hoping that it would be better this time. I have the same ingredients used from my previous post and it resulted to a much better french toast. Yey! Although, we didn't have some syrup and sugar to make it sweet. I'm hoping that I can make it more delicious and presentable next time and that needs more practice! I'm sorry if it looks like a toasted bread here. This is actually my french toast ✌ peace! For the whole morning, I was feeling very creative (??) that I put falling snowflakes on my blog to make it Christmas-y. I just want to spread the Christmas spirit as I'll be having a Christmas countdown for you guys. I think you already read my post about it. So yeah, happy Thursday everybody!

Good morning December

A year is a lot. We cried, we enjoyed, we did and we felt the life of being human. Three hundred sixty-five days is a compilation of our memories. Time flies like a light year. What were the things you cherished the most? Me, I like it when I got passed all of my second year subjects and progressed to being a third year student in college. I remembered how I find my Invertebrate zoology difficult because I always got Fs on the quizzes. But, I did it. It's funny remembering that I was head over heels with this guy that I gave a lot of effort to look at him even in a far distance. I love the moment when we were reunited with my high school best friends during my birthday. They got me balloons and a cake to give cheers for my day. I am grateful for the challenges that I faced and fought. They were the worst and the simplest struggles that challenged me and taught me a lot of things. They made me a better person than before.  See how your memories just flash out in yo...

PSM convention: Squad moments

Image
I will be please to expose the squad moments we had to you ladies and gents.  I was attending a 2 days convention just yesterday. As you can see PSM stands for Philippine Society for Microbiology. But, these photos are just behind-the-scenes. So, without further ado, here are the silly moments captured during the convention. *courtesy of Allona Reasol When we had a laboratory report to be pass on the same day of the convention. And when we just have to chill for a moment. *courtesy of Allona Reasol  After a wild and wet night at the club, the guys where just too tired to care how they look on their bed :D. We had our breakfast  on a karenderya ,   residing 2 blocks from the hotel, with just our pajamas on.  *courtesy of Allona Reasol Candid, formal, and wacky shots at the end of the convention.

there could be a different story.

When in war, losses are his triumph and destruction is his happiness. When he set a war, he wanted something out of greed, pride, and envy.  He was just too weak to handle his shadowing emotions. He was frustrated because he can't handle the pain. And there he was, already at rage. He didn't know that his madness poked up his ego. Now, he was blinded with fear, the fear of uncontrolled self. Because of that, his thoughts corrupted with whatsoever that could erase his feelings. He set forth his gold digger army that was never on his side. Then, the world was in chaos.  News were the portal of his doings. It is seen by many, in tears and in frown. There he is, embarking the land for his take. He was happy seeing the bloody interaction. The losses of the land was his entertainment. But, he never knew that he was pitiful in an eagle's eye. The lives of innocent were sacrificed for him. For him to realize his inferiority. Having war was his escape. He ...

with Aunties & uncaptured sight

We can't have these things without my aunts.  One beautiful day , we had our lunch in Pizza Republic at Limketkai center. I felt so creative choosing the ingredients to put in my pizza. Sadly, I forgot those specific ingredients, but I actually named it "Hawaiin Carambola" s ecret ly . It has pineapples on it, surrounded with leafy veggies and meat for a spicy taste. I sprinkled it with basil at the end and everything looks amazing and it tasted delicious. On some point, I regret having just basil as my spice. The taste actually lacked spiciness, but it was great though! Yesterday, we went to the mall . We had our snack in Pancake house. I order ed Fren ch toast and a fresh orange juice. Next stop, we were strolling around finding the perfect backpack . Secon d semester is up here at my place and I need to have a backpack that c an hold books and stuffs. I haven't had a proper one so my aunt J. gave me as a birthday gift. Yey! We went shopping some...

Hateful feeling

Image
I hate myself when... I get weary thinking of my love life,  that I get sad thinking that others have their special companion and I'm here daydreaming of my man. I hate myself when... My confidence washed out  when I think no one is taking a chance on me. I hate it when... My friends and parents told me to wait for the right time but I keep returning to the same thought,  of having one, time to time. I wish I could just take off my emotions and feel nothing of this. I wish I could just take away my mind and never drown myself of this. Is it me? Is it fate? If having someone is not my time now,  why do I long ? so stressed out thinking of this over and over again. Praying time to time and get the same common answer, but still feeling sad at the end.  I hate it.

The Food Chain

What if I am opposite from who I am now? What if I am a domineering person? Bold and sufficient.  People will look forward to what I say. I would be giving commands right now.  I would spill out my views without a second thought even it would affect the people.  I would care less of them anyway but to my job. I would be efficient in decision  making. They can't proceed without me leading. I would be feared by the most. I would be the lion in the jungle. What if I am a conscientious person? Logical and keen. I would be detail-oriented.  I would find your mistakes a disgrace. I am  logical, practically good in decision-making. My works are prepared systematically. I would be the hunter in the jungle. Yet, I am not them. I consider other people. I keep my thoughts hidden. I am indecisive. I think of the bigger picture.  I work for others. I am the nature. I am not them. ❤️follow m...

Q&A: On spelling your name with your chin

This afternoon, as I was reading some latest posts in my Tumblr I passed by this picture that has 150 random questions about yourself. I thought I could have this one so I selected 20 questions that might be nice to share it with you guys.  And as I read through the questions, it brightened up my my m ood recalling some bits of stuffs . Hope it would do the same to you! 1. Are you outgoing or shy? A: I am really shy. I wish I could emphasize how shy I am. But, my blog would be filled with paragraphs if I do so. Hence, maybe I can do a different blog for this. 2. Who are you looking forward to seeing? A: This made me smile a bit. Haha. My future partner/lover/the one/ etc. 3. Are you easy to get along with? A: Hm I am an introvert actually. Maybe at first you'll feel awkward because of my silence. But, when we get to know each other for a long time you probably find me quite amusing. Idk. That's just what I observed. 4....

Family day & Ruined breakfast

Sembreak goal #1: Learn to cook French toast "Seriously? French toast? That's s o easy! How could you not done it well?", perhaps this is your reaction towards me.  I am not good at cooking.    I learnt making French toast from my guy cousin. Sad to say, he's better than me. As I arrived h ome from the city, I was thinking if  I c ould make  French toast for my family, so I told my father I would buy the ingredients. Last Saturday, I couldn't find cinnamon in  the supermarkets (I actually visited 3). So I ended having just milk and eggs for the ingredients. Yesterday m orning , I was juggling in the kitchen while making French t oast. I actually made it correctly, but it was tasteless (???). What else can I do? No cinnamon found. My French toast resulted to an egg sandwich instead. With this kind of situation, I think I'll spend more practice to master French toast!  My father introduced us to Villa La Selva resort. We ha...

A glimpse of myself

Image
The last Saturday in the month of September where I capture the core of my being. I was so fond of it that my mind was full of inquiries and pride. It was a whitish thread-like substance, floating inside, that I wonder what and why in this composition I was made of. In my naked eye, I saw and I brought home my DNA. Compared to my classmates, their DNA was beautifully captured. It was like a species of an unknown invertebrate in the deepest depth of Pacific ocean. It was long and slender. Very beautiful. As I had mine, it almost went to nothing. I thought I did it unsuccessfully, but in a few moments there it was. A minute, coiled whitish speck of my DNA. I wonder why this little fella existed in such a wonderful, chaotic planet. It was said that 99% of our DNA was all the same, but 1% of that is what makes us unique to each other. I wonder what that 1% could be. Do you know? Well, tell me so if you do. It's hard to find the answer when you kn...

it's your Bornday!

I hear a lot of people do not find their birthday valuable. They say celebrating birthday is expensive. It is a waste of time. It’s just an ordinary day. But, truthfully birthdays are a special reminders to all. There is a deeper reason why birthdays should be kept as a special event to be celebrated. My family is quite particular when it comes to birthdays. We always celebrate it even in a small way like preparing a simple get-together-dinner. I never knew the essence of celebrating it until it came to a realization. Birthdays might be irrelevant in most people’s life today. But one thing that some of us didn’t think of is birthdays reminds us who we are. Imagine, out of all possible people that should be born, you are created in  that particular day! Come to think of it. You are someone important then. All of us! If I am not mistaken, if you aren’t a special person you might end up something else! What? a cat? a plant? a toothbrush?…My point here i...
